Week One (5/1 - 5/7)

Posted on May 1, 2021.

Based on Matthew 5:38-48

God, we understand that you send the sun to shine on the good and the bad. So, our love for our fellow human beings is to be directed toward those who love us and those who hate us. We also realize that our actions sometime reflect something totally different than the way they ought to be.

Lord, we remember that we should not deny our love and prayers to those we disagree with and those who persecute us. Your grace is for all; we have all sinned and have fallen short of your glory. May the Holy Spirit guide us to treat others the way we would want to be treated.

We understand as disciples of Jesus we need to live according to the standards of the kingdom of God which includes understanding the will of God for our lives in all situations. It is not enough for us to hear these words of Jesus; to study them; to be inspired by them; to have hopes, aspirations, and dreams based on them. We must act on them, practice them daily and livethem in every aspect of our lives. AMEN.
